What Does The Exterior Car Detailing Package Include

Keeping your car’s exterior glossy is a task. Constant exposure to elements like sunlight, rain, chemicals, dirt, and debris can dull the shine of your vehicle. To prevent this from happening, you can opt for car detailing. Many people give their car for detailing but don’t know what to expect from it. There are two parts to car detailing: interior and exterior car detailing. Both include cleaning your car thoroughly. However, it is more than just a basic car wash.

Here is a rundown on what happens to your car during an exterior car detailing service:

What is Car Detailing?

Car detailing is all about cleaning your car from top to bottom and adding protective layers to prevent it from elements until the subsequent detailing. Your car detailer will use various cleaning tools and products to ensure that your car is clean before adding a protective layer of wax, clay, and ceramic to ensure that it is protected against elements and minor scratches.

What are the steps included in exterior car detailing?

Step #1: Car washing

The first step of your exterior car detailing is car washing. At Ruddick’s Detail, we clean each part of your car using ph-neutral car shampoo. We ensure that car rim and tires are cleaned with a degreased-acidic cleaner so that they caused no damage. Once the shampoo and other cleaners are washed off with a two-bucket grit guard system, we hand dry the car to prevent any scratches or watermarks.

Step #2: Surface claying

Once your car’s exterior is washed and dried, the next step is to give it a clay bar treatment. A clay bar is a resin mixture that can be easily rolled and flattened to rub off your car’s exterior surface. Clay bar treatment is done to remove any contaminants that may not have been removed during the wash. Such pollutants can penetrate your car’s paint job glass, fiberglass, and even metal.

Step #3: Rubbing & polishing

After the wax treatment, the next step is to buff and polish your car’s exterior to bring back its lost shine. An industrial-grade polish is used to add shine to all the chrome film on your vehicle. Such polishes remove any dullness without altering the original color of your car’s paint job. The headlights and taillights are also polished to ensure better illumination, and hydrophobic products are used to make sure that they stay that way.

Step #4: Paint Sealing

After the polishing is completed, the next step is to seal the polish and the paint job to protect against any deterioration due to further exposure. We do paint sealing using a ceramic car sealant or car wax. Our sealants last for up to 7 months.
